Following an announced strike by Belgian trade unions, several airlines will divert to Maastricht Aachen Airport next week.
On Monday, the airport will handle four additional flights from Qatar Airways. Wednesday will be significantly busier with eight passenger flights from Wizz Air and eight cargo flights from carriers including Latam Cargo and Qatar Airways. The first flight is expected to land around 07:00, with the last departure scheduled for approximately 22:00.
To manage this peak efficiently, Maastricht Aachen Airport scales up quickly. Staff are deployed flexibly, with office colleagues assisting passengers and the fire brigade supporting aircraft handling. Our partners—such as catering, cleaning, car rental, and security—also step up to ensure all services are available. This guarantees smooth operations and a pleasant experience for travelers.
